Bekaa Valley Turkey Shoot * Check Your 6! Jet Age
E-Minis-2 * $ 2
Game Master: Andy Roy & Chris Nichols * 8 Players * Teen14
On June 9th 1982, Israel launched Operation Mole Cricket 19, the air campaign to suppress Syrian anti-aircraft defenses in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon. These defenses needed to be eliminated in order for the Israeli Air Force to effectively support Israeli ground forces.

The catastrophic opening days of the Yom Kippur War in 1973 gave the Israeli Air Force reason to fear and respect the surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) and radar-guided anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) utilized by its Arab enemies. Israel was determined that its air force would never again suffer such losses.

Through precise intelligence and the use of electronic warfare and drones, the Israeli Air Force easily located the anti-aircraft defenses in the Bekaa Valley. The Israelis also provoked the Syrian Air Force into a monumental, one-sided air battle commonly referred to as “The Bekaa Valley Turkey Shoot.”

Join us for a large game of Check Your 6 Jet Age, in which players will represent veteran pilots of the Israeli Air Force attempting to sweep Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley of Syrian anti-aircraft defenses and interceptors in support of Israel’s invasion of Lebanon.

Opposing the Israelis shall be numerous MiGs of the Syrian Air Force, supported by SAM and AAA batteries whose command, control, and communications network is vital to Syria’s effective defense of the Bakaa valley.

Painted & detailed 1/285 scale aircraft, SAMs and AAA, a large professionally created satellite photo hex map, pencils, dice, clipboards, quick reference charts, and aircraft record sheets will all be provided. Game experience will be helpful, but not entirely necessary. The game’s rules and mechanics will be taught. We ask that players be age 14+ please. Beginners encouraged.

NYWA and CGC members, family and friends always welcome. Beginners encouraged.

Saturday Evening  7:00 PM - 11:00+ PM  (Slot F)

Close Action Squadron Battle * Close Action
F-Minis-1 * $ 2
Game Master: Dan Bostwick * 6 Players * E10
Close Action is a tactical simulation of naval combat in the Age Of Fighting Sail. Players command one sailing ship ranging in size from a small eight gun Corvette to a 130 gun ship of the line from one of four Navies. You will plot your ship’s movement, give orders to your sailors and marines, fire the Great Guns, and send signals to the rest of your fleet. Realistic movement, combat, and communications rules will make you feel like you are part of the real battle being simulated. Captains and Admirals needed! This will be a single-slot event with up to six players, representing a small squadron-level action. Rules in play will include the basic game and the Rebel Seas and Monsoon Seas expansions. Beginners encouraged.

Sails of Glory
F-Minis-3 * $ 2
Game Master: Richard Mendoza * 4 Players * E10
Naval combat in the Age of Sail. Sails of Glory uses a similar movement system to Wings of Glory and Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures. There are a number of great Age of Sail games, but Sails of Glory has added innovations that allow for excellent realism while keeping the rules simple and the bookkeeping manageable. It also boasts the eye-candy of beautiful pre-painted 1/1000 scale ship minis. Everything you'd find in a Patrick O'Brian novel except rum, buggery and the lash... and probably that's just as well. Beginners encouraged.

Wings of Glory * Wings of Glory: WW1
F-Minis-5 * $ 2
Game Master: Kyle Madden & Bill Dwyer * 12 Players * Teen14
During the summer of 1918 up in the sky over the western front, fighter pilots battle for survival. Using the popular, fast paced miniatures game Wings of Glory, you assume the role of an American or German fighter pilot. Rely on your wits and luck to not only stay alive but bag as many of the enemy as you can and become a hero! Beginners encouraged.

Sunday Morning  9:00 AM - 1:00 PM  (Slot G)

The Austro-Hungarian Navy vs the Italian Navy–Adriatic Sea, November, 1917 * When Dreadnaughts Ruled
G-Minis-1 * $ 2
Game Master: Bob Mulligan * 7 Players * E10
An Austro-Hungarian force of fast cruisers has raided the Otranto Barrage, covered by several capital ships. The Italians, expecting this, have sent their own capital ships and caught up with the cripples. Are the crippled ships expendable, or do the Austrians feel they must risk the big guys, to save their little guys? “When Dreadnaughts Ruled the Waves” are the easily learned rules. The scale is 1/2400. Beginners encouraged.
