Star Fleet Battles Patrol Tournament - The Council Cup * Star Fleet Battles
SFB * $ 5
Game Master: Stephen McCann * 32 Players * Teen14 Star Fleet Battles is an intricate game of ship-to-ship combat in the classic Star Trek universe (the one Kirk explored). Several other races have been added for variety. Tournament battles are like tense chess matches, with each player trying to bring his ship’s strengths to bear. Last year’s tournament was once again the largest in the whole country, and we expect great attendance again this year.

To make it easier for you to try the game if you're interested, look in your registration packet for a coupon to play the first game free. If you'd like to continue in the tournament, you can pay to enter. But if you'd just like to learn a new game, it's on us.

SFB stars right at 9am on Friday when the doors open. Fight patrol battles all weekend, until we start the finals on Saturday evening at 7pm. Semi-finals and Finals will be Sunday.

You can change your ship mid-tournament, but you will need to pay a new $5 to re-enter.

CONTINUED THIS YEAR - Anyone who comes in try SFB for the first time, or comes in to shake off years of rust, can walk away with a free item from our “Take One Leave One” used SFB game pile. Beginners encouraged.

Eclipse
A-Board-1 * $ 2
Game Master: David Bostwick * 6 Players * Teen14
The galaxy has been a peaceful place for many years. After the ruthless Terran-Hegemony War (30.027 - 33.364), much effort has been employed by all major spacefaring species to prevent the terrifying events from repeating themselves. The Galactic Council was formed to enforce precious peace, and it has taken many courageous efforts to prevent the escalation of malicious acts. Nevertheless, tension and discord are growing among the seven major species and in the Council itself. Old alliances are shattering, and hasty diplomatic treaties are made in secrecy. A confrontation of the superpowers seems inevitable - only the outcome of the galactic conflict remains to be seen. Which faction will emerge victorious and lead the galaxy under its rule? A game of Eclipse places you in control of a vast interstellar civilization, competing for success with its rivals. You will explore new star systems, research technologies, and build spaceships to wage war with. There are many potential paths to victory, so you need to plan your strategy according to the strengths and weaknesses of your species, while paying attention to the other civilizations' endeavors. The shadows of the great civilizations are about to eclipse the galaxy. Lead your people to victory! Eclipse with all expansions and many house rules for technologies. Beginners encouraged.

Battle of Tukayyid - The Attack on Skupo * Battletech - Alpha Strike
C-Minis-1 * $ 2
Game Master: Andy & Chris Roy & Nichols * 10 Players * Teen14
Three days into the Trial of Possession of Tukayyid, elements of the Com Guard 10th Army found themselves in a defensive battle outside Skupo, a city that was a primary objective for Clan Wolf’s 4th Striker Cluster.

Under the protection of long-range artillery fire, the 283rd Guards retreated into the city’s center, in an attempt to lure their Clan enemies into brutal, close-range street fighting.

However, the Clan Wolf forces outflanked the 283rd Guards in a rush to take the high ground surrounding the city, and disrupt communications by destroying ComStar’s hyperpulse generators (HPGs) and cutting off the Com Guards from reinforcement.

Join us for a large game of Battletech Alpha Strike, in which elements of the Clan Wolf 4th Striker Cluster engage ComStar’s Elite 283rd Guards to seize various objectives in and around the city of Skupo.

Painted battlemechs, spectacular 3D terrain, battlemech data cards, and dry-erase markers will all be provided. Game experience will be extremely helpful, but not entirely necessary. Alpha Strike’s simple rules and mechanics will be taught. Alpha strike is a quick-play version of Battletech which should appeal to veterans and new players alike. Beginners encouraged.

The Pirates Find an Ally * Federation Commander
F-Minis-5 * $ 2
Game Master: Thomas A. Compter * 6 Players * Teen14
An Orion pirate battle raider was preying on Kzinti freighters, so the Kzintis dispatched a small task force to hunt down the pirate ship and destroy it. The pirate captain fled toward a neutral area of space that was disputed by both the Federation and the Klingon Empire. He escaped from the Kzintis at high warp speed and assumed a close orbit around an uninhabited planet, hoping to avoid detection. The Kzintis quickly contacted the Federation and informed them about their pursuit of the pirate close to Federation space. They did not want their actions be misinterpreted as hostile. Star Fleet Command had been tracking the movement of the pirate vessel and saw an opportunity to improve relations with the Kzintis, so they provided them with long-range sensor data on the movement of the Orion. A starship was sent to "observe" the Kzinti action and render assistance if necessary. The Klingons were no friends of the Orion pirates, but they, too, detected what was happening and, seeing an opportunity to gain control of this area from the Federation, sent ships to aid the Orion ship according to a deal that was brokered via subspace. This scenario begins just as the Federation and Kzinti ships arrive on the scene. Beginners encouraged.
