Hotel Options for Council of Five Nations Adventure Gaming Convention

This hotel is right next door to Proctors, and is thus the most convenient place to stay.  And, we are getting a good deal from the Parker this year: a Council room rate of only $114 per night (no increase from last year's rate).  There are ten rooms available at this rate right now.  The options are a single room with a Queen bed, or an Double room.  This rate is good only until September 1st. 

Parker Inn Update:  After we posted the content above last April, local news media report that the Parker Inn is in the process of bankruptcy.  Click here for a good article.  We called to ask if room bookings on Council weekend will still be honored, and we were assured they would be.  But we still suggest you book with this in mind; if you are risk averse, perhaps one of the other options here would be more to your liking.

This hotel is about a half-mile from Proctors, and many of our attendees choose to stay here every year. The Days Inn is our suggested economy option.  We do not have a set Council rate.  As of today (see Last Update at the top of this page), we see rates of $72-88 per night, plus taxes & fees, on various internet travel sites.  There are other hotels close to Proctors in this price range (several on State Street), but we suggest you stay away from those.  The Days Inn offers free parking.

This hotel is also about a half-mile from Proctors, directly across the street from the Days Inn.  They have plenty of free parking, and a shuttle van that can take you back-and-forth to Proctors, upon request.  Please note that hotel guests needing airport pickup/dropoff have priority.  The van also runs only until 10:30 PM.

We do not have an arrangement for a Council rate.  Various internet sites currently list a rate of $122 (plus taxes & fees) for a double room.  If you don't mind a little walk, but want something that's a bit nicer than the Days Inn (right across the street), then this is a pretty good deal.

This hotel is right up the block from Proctors, about a one-minute walk.  We will probably get a convention rate quote from them, but the Hampton Inn just doesn't seem to have a whole lotta love for Council attendees.  Every year, the con rate they quote us is higher than what anyone can get on internet travel sites, so we usually suggest you look there. 

Hampton Inn Update (Sept 13, 2011).  We have reports that the Hampton Inn is totally booked.  Something about four weddings on our weekend.  If you want a 'nicer' place, we suggest the Holiday Inn, listed directly above.

The Hampton Inn includes a continental breakfast for all guests.  They also have a private parking lot, so this is an extra convenience for our out-of-town attendees.  The Hampton Inn is a nice new hotel with 21st century amenities, like WiFi and hi-def wide screen TVs in every guest room.

For three years in a row now, Council attendees have stayed at Frosty Acres Campground.  Not many, but a few.  So we figured it's time to add it to our list of suggested lodgings.  Both sets of guys gave it very positive reviews.  Their web site says their season ends on October 1st, but it's also said that for the past two years and it wasn't a problem.  If you call ahead and make a reservation, we're pretty sure you'll be fine.  Frosty Acres is about ten miles from Proctors, which amounts to a 15-20 minute drive.
