Call for GMs for the July 18th Game-a-thon

()
The July Game-a-thon is coming up on Saturday, July 18th.

We are looking for people to GM. If you're looking for ideas, we have requests for Axis & Allies-Anniversary Edition and Avalon Hill's Source of the Nile.
We would also like to know what games would entice you to attend.  We already have commitments for a Wild West version of Call of Cthulhu RPG for the evening slot, and RPGA D&D for both sessions.

You can sign up to run a game using this form:

Or, you can request a game to be run here:

Please sign up by June 30th or earlier.  That way we can get the word out in plenty of time for the Thon.

Swap Meet

The July Game-a-thon is also one of our quarterly Swap Meet days.

Three times per year, at the January, April and July Game-a-thons, we have a Swap Meet area at Game-a-thon. If you've got merchandise you'd like to sell, please consider renting a table or two.

This is meant to be more of a Swap Meet / Garage Sale atmosphere, and not really intended for full merchant setups.

Each attendee can rent a maximum of three tables. The first costs $2, two cost $10, and three cost $20. As you can see, the price structure encourages individuals to rent few tables.

Each table is (2.5' x 2.5'); a standard card table. Some of them are kinda old and thus not very sturdy. Please keep this in mind when planning what you'll bring for sale.  You can always put large or heavy merchandise underneath your table.

You can reserve your table(s) ahead of time by using the online registration form. You will see the prices repeated there. Please also note that you have to pay the Game-a-thon registration in addition to the table rental fee if you play games.

We suggest that you use our Forum discussion boards to announce what you will/might bring. We suggest posting in the Game-a-thon Planning category where the Game-a-thons are announced.

(Here's our secret agenda... Not only do we want to help you get rid of gaming stuff you're not using, but we'd also like to see this generate some more walk-in traffic.)

Charity Book Auction

Please also remember we are nearing the end of the silent auction period for our charity book auction.

During the winter, the family of Larry Conley donated his collection of 197 hardback SF/Fantasy books to the SWA. We're not really interested in running a lending library for club members, so we've decided to auction off the books.

The proceeds of this auction will go to benefit the folks for whom war is not a game, but a reality - U.S. SOLDIERS! Everything we get from this auction will be passed along as a donation to the USO, to help them in their mission of supporting and helping our troops and their families.

Please click here to go to the web page we've set up to facilitate this silent auction.  You will find rules, prices, the list of 197 books, and a web form to make the whole process as smooth as possible:

The deadline for bidding is July 4th.

We will be distributing books to the winners at the July 18th Game-a-thon.

Thank you for your interest and support.  We hope to see many of you at our future events.
