Council Guest Highlight: Ad Astra Games and Battleground: Fantasy Warfare

()
Council of Five Nations is happy to have two game companies represented on site this year.

Ad Astra Games produces Squadron Strike (futuristic starship combat), Birds of Prey (dogfighting in the jet fighter age), and the Saganami Island Tactical Simulator system (space ship combat based on the very-popular Honor Harrington universe).  Ad Astra will have a demo & dealer table all weekend, right by the Star Fleet Battles room upstairs.  They will be running short demo games all weekend on demand, so if you're interested, drop by and check things out.  They are also running four full events over Council weekend:

B-Minis-2 * When Universes Collide * Squadron Strike
C-Board-1 * Birds of Prey Demonstration: Operation Bolo * Birds of Prey
D-Board-13 * Birds of Prey Demonstration: Operation Bolo * Birds of Prey
E-Minis-1 * The Battle of Cochrane's Rift * Squadron Strike

Your Move Games produces several games (Succession: Intrigue in the Royal Court, The Battle for Hill 218, and Space Station Assault), but our favorite is Battleground: Fantasy Warfare.  B:FW is a fantasy miniatures game that you can carry in your pocket.  The rules are well designed and the game plays very well.  This has been a big hit with the SWA membership and at several of our events.  Nine of us were very happy to be part of the playtest team for the Battleground: Kingdoms campaign system (we got our names in the rulebook and everything!).   YMG recently released Second Punic War: Rome vs Carthage, a real-world history version of the game using the same excellent rules engine.

YMG will also have a demo and dealers table all weekend at Council.  Stop by the table any time for a fast demo.  There will be a Battleground tournament on Saturday night, starting around 8pm, upstairs.  There might be another tournament on Sunday if there is enough demand.

Please help us welcome both these companies to Council of Five Nations this weekend.
