Tsushima comments
Just thought I would mention that I finally remember how most of the other systems I've played that battle with handicapped the Russians even more: All those light gun hits (which currently bounce with no effect in your system) tended to start fires all over the Russian ships - which hadn't been stripped for battle. So most of the time all it took was one good round of the goddawful Japanese secondaries and the Russkies were burning stem-to-stern.
I'm not sure (in fact I'm downright doubtful) that the Japanese need ANOTHER advantage..but something to consider and perhaps goes a bit towards explaining our rather better than historical mauling of the Japanese
For those who weren't there the end result was
Russians: 5 BBs burning/dead in water and abandoned (4 of the Borodinos and the Nikolai *note ships too slow to have any shot at evasion included*)
1 AC sunk
2 PCs sunk
with the rest of the fleet limping off at 10knots with various moderate to light damage
Japanese: 2 BBs dead in the water - one a total hulk (1 new, one older)
2 PC/CCs dead in the water/burning
1 PC/CC sunk
with the rest of the fleet taking very light to moderate damage(most towards the lighter end)
**note the following is sarcasm , please read at your own risk**
Post battle Japanese papers largely attributed the swift and bloody battle to the charge of Admiral "Banzai Bill" Steinizowa. A senior crewman on the lead battleship, "Stumpy" Hiroshi was heard to remark, "They were only Russians..did we really have to get THAT close?"

Re: Tsushima comments
Argh, don't fire till ya see the whites in their eyes, then ram them! I could have done some better manuvering and that cost me much of the damage I took. The Russian BBs got behind my column, which closely resembled what I did to Eric in the Span-American war campaign, and it had similar effects. It was a good game, sorry I had to leave for a while but I had someone that was going to do some work on my car so I couldn't pass it up. "I saw this in a cartoon once and I think I can pull it off."
