Final after action report, covering June'41
Well, the month began with a lightning raid by the LRDG, which damaged an axis air unit and catured 2T of axis trucks. The rest of the month progressed in a long, slow, sandstorm-riddled shuffling of troops forward and back.
Notable was the baffling withdrawal of no less than SEVEN trained infantry brigades by CW strategic command. The air war continued with mounting British attrition to little result.
The culmination of the month was a last minute series of attacks hastily ordered by that lunatic Churchill - which led to the demise of the entire 7th armored division+supply trucks.
This proved too much for the high strung mind of Strafer Gott - who snapped, shot O'Conner in the back and flew off to England to plan the coup to overthrow Chruchill.
(Non-RP explanation - mounting frustration with some of the game mechanics/optional rules used on my part and a collective agreement that the game was heading for a prolonged period of build up and positional warfare had led to a discussion of restarting the campaign or possibly playing some of the other scenarios before this session even began - events during the session just drove me over the top, into wanting to restart.)
