Strongholds

()

You guys ave talked about getting your own place and setting up a household. I do have the Strongholds supplement if you want to consult and see how much you will need to sock away....I warn you, it will likely be substantial Cool But it is good to have something to shoot for.

The book has the obvious stuff, plus sections on how to add the cool stuff like enchantments, workshops of various kinds, etc.

I'll bring it along next time and if someone wants to borrow it, go ahead and have at it.

Re: Strongholds

dwarves can sniff elves out. there is a girly stink on them thats easy to track.

Re: Strongholds

I just want a basic alchemy, nice workshop and library. Troops and taverns are awesome, I will need to setup illusions to scare the dwarven troops from killing me.

Re: Strongholds

ok but i think you are forgeting squirels. they are rodents and can be very put out when people put houses in their trees.

the other dwarf and i had a disscussion with the elf and apparently he wants a very expensive labatory and library.

the dwarves were looking for a forge, a tavern, a chapel, and some room for a small force of dwarven soilders.

Re: Strongholds

Seriously? I just want a treehouse out in the woods on our stronghold propoerty Cool I definitely don't want a cave (unless there is a treehouse outside), but I will need enough room for my gnomish militia to meet once a month. Caves present too many possibilities for me to be carried off by ornery rodents. Thanks Eye-wink

Re: Strongholds

Caves suck, how about a castle at the base of a mountain?

Re: Strongholds

there is nothing crappy about a cave. ill give it some thought. i am looking at leadership for a feat at 6th lv.

Re: Strongholds

I would need a map, and you likely would too; you'll need to know how many doors and interior walls there are for your cost estimates.

If there is interest, I believe I have Castles of Harn, which have some good layouts; if not, I do have the various Kingdom books that have castle and keep layouts.

Re: Strongholds

Ok, I'll need everyone's input for this,

To get the kind of place we will need/want, its going to be expensive. Shoud we take over a large manor thats abandoned or try to build our own? We will need a staff of a few servants most likely, so we also need guards. Does our Dwarven Paladin and cleric imagine themselves leading a castle or some crappy cave? How big do we want to go? 25 troops? 100? more?

Also, how fancy do we want to be? Do we want to be near water to have a place to launch our magic boat? Do we want a small castle with an outer wall? Think about this and I will bring it up Sunday night.

Also Mike, would you like us to map out the castle when we build it? If so, I'll grab some graph paper or figure out a suitable computer program.

Re: Strongholds

Very cool.
