Campaign Events
Sodales,
Guillo has a report for you in late Autumn 1120.
Given our situation, I thought it important that I personally escort the MacKellen men as they drove their cattle to the annual market at Stirling. We couldn't allow the magically-aided MacGruder clansmen to massacre more of our new friends.
We crossed paths with the MacGruders; a group of 30-strong young men. They picked a fight with us. We killed over a dozen of them before the others broke and fled into the hills.
We interrogated the surviors, including one of Old Man MacGruder's younger sons. They told us this:
* Last year, several strange sorcerors visited the MacGruders the night before they raided the MacKellens. They cast their spells on the MacGruders and departed. They spoke in Scots Gaelic, but cast their spells using the ancient tongue.
* There are 30-40 MacKellen clansmen and women being held as thralls by the MacGruders.
I now propose that we change our Winter plans. Forget about books for now. We have two more important goals:
1. Raid the MacGruders during the coldest part of Winter, when they would least expect it. I have magic for all of us to keep warm and dry. We must liberate as many of the MacKellens as we can, and bring them back here safely. We can double the number of coven folk! This should only take us a few days, so it need not interrupt magical activities.
2. Make magic items to help with planting & harvest, or spend the season doing spells to help clear the land for better fertility.
I call upon all of you to aid the covenant as best you can in this time of great need!
(I'm invoking my Inspriational virtue, in case any of you want to be particularly inspired...
)

Re: Campaign Events
You know I had an entire post written up on the hole thing, but I decided to use your own words against you. What's done is done.

i say its not your loot its the mekellians property. they raided the mcgruders and they transported the stuff so why are you claiming it all? is this about the silvers or is it that you are angered by the magi that were upset with you? you at any time as a magi can get money from the autocrat for projects so this must be a pride thing? did you not except the judgement of the council? i say tae what share was yours but the loot was not all yours for the claiming this isa not a navy ship and you are not the captain the mckellians are entitled to their share.

if you wish your loot back then take it. i only believe that this will further split the magi of the covanant in a time when we should be working togther. i raise this issue to all magi are we going to cooperate against others or are we going to continue this infighting until the quesitor comes looking? you feel you were protecting me by not telling me the whole truth and to that i say i can protect myself and you by knowing what you do.

Mark,
I believe this is a more accurate parallel of "real life terms".
* I talk with my friends about robbing a bank.
* They say no, don't do it.
* I do it anyway.
* I come back and share the money with them; an even split for all.
* The police are not yet even on my trail.
* My friends criticize me for giving them the money they hold in their hands.
* My friends punish me; they get a pizza delivered, but say I can't have any because I've been bad.
* My friends tell me they will not cover for me when the police come looking for me.
* In fact, my friends threaten to turn me over to the police.
* However, my friends still want to keep the money that I shared with them.
I accepted the judgment against me, and my punishment.
I just want what's fair. If I am solely responsible for the act, then I am solely the beneficiary of the spoils.
Jonah,
We can easily take equal goods from the covenant's current supplies. We do not need to back up time, if Mike rules that's not an option.
I've already been punished for the "unnecesary risk" you say my actions put you in. I lost 3 pawns of vis, remember?
Scrying attempts:
Your memory is off. They started in Spring or Summer, before the cattle drive.
I stand by my assertion that I did not attempt to play you for fools. I attempted to shelter you from blame if any Quaisitors came asking around.
I could just have easily have said absolutely nothing. But, instead I wanted you to know of the risk we face. We know that the MacGruders are working with native non-hermetic sorcerers.
I could have silently kept all the goods I captured for myself, but instead I shared them equally with my "sodales".

)Re: Campaign Events
You have already given the goods to the covenant, Since we aren't backing up time again those materials have already been used up. You're not getting replacements for it. On top of that, you did in fact take unnecessary risk that put us in more danger a lot sooner then we expected. Did you forget all those scrying attempts against you? How many got though? When did they start? Oh yeah, Second half of Fall. You attempted to play us all for fools and wish to do so again.
No.

You are wrong.
We did not criticize your efforts to 'put food on the table'. We blasted your methods. You lied and deceived your soldales. You went against our unified decision. You were punished and released. Now you want it back...huh.
To put it real life terms..
You robbed the bank and got caught. You were put in jail (punished), and released. Now your asking to get back the money that you stole.
Nice.
No

Guillo has an issue to take up with the other Magi:
We agreed that treasure & vis gained on personal missions would be "taxed" 25% to the covenant, the magus keeping the other 75%.
You have criticized me for my efforts to put food on your table during the hard winter. You have said I went off on my own and did something I should not have done. You even punished me by taking my share of the year's vis harvest.
Well, if I am to take sole responsibility, then I now want my full share of the loot collected.
We agreed as a whole covenant to the raid on the MacGruder village, so I am not asking for anything from that effort. That was clearly a "whole-covenant" mission.
But if the Autumn 1120 cattle raid was my personal mission, it is not right that you all share in the treasure gained.
Let's vote.
DC Says:
I'm sorry it took me a night's sleep to think about this. I don't want to raise more "back in time" issues. If you want to say this discussion happens in Autumn 1120, fine. If it's Spring 1121, and it took me two seasons to think about it, that's fine too.
