Covenant Location

I found what I thought would be a good location for a covenant. It is on the west coast, a few miles inland. It is on a hill that overlooks a river that flows between two Lochs. On top of the hill, are the ancient remains of a small hillfort dating to the time before Christ. The hill itself is one of the Hollow Hills--an entrance to the faerie realms; the hill currently appears empty.
The location is mid-Highlands, in an area of fairly low population; it is on the border where the Scots-Irish and Highlands meet. There are a number of islands nearby, including the monastery of Iona.

Questions:
Q: Is there a town nearby?
A: Well, there are fortified settlements. I'd have to check where the nearest Royal Burgh is, likely somewhere on the east coast. Those are the closest towns you can get "sophisticated" items from. The local vills and duns you can trade or raid for sustenance.
Q: Faeries
A: At least one player is planning a Merinita mage. The faeries in this area tend to be solitary and neutral/unfriendly. The faeries in the lowlands tend to be more what most players are used to. Many of the menhirs, henges, and other standing-stone type structures still have faerie auras, even if no faeries still live there.
Q: Maps?
A: Yes I have a map; I am drawing from a couple of different sources. The one I need right now is a topo map of Scotland; I'll have to see if Borders or Barnes and Noble has one.
Q: The blasted Church and its aura
A: The church in this area is different in that it currently doesn't recognize the primacy of Rome. This wouldn't normally be of interest to most players (I can see your eyes glazing over now!) but the game effect is that the Scottish Divine Aura has different game effects that aren't nearly as bad, for the most part, than the regular Dominion. Those areas controlled by the Normans (the Lowlands, mainly) have a normal dominion. Most Scottish villages do not have a local church and only receive services when the visiting priest comes to town; as such, they don't usually have a dominion score. Monasteries do have a dominion, but the area it affects is fairly constrained. Iona, the island monastery that was mentioned, has an absurdly high dominion....but it ends at the shore of its little island.
Q: Aura of the covenant
A: Haven't decided, will likely be a faerie aura of 6+; I might decide on a magic one, though.

)Re: Covenant Location
sounds like we are at the center of three factions that hate each other or four if you count the fey. it also seems that people know its a place to find the fairies.
i dont mind that location because it will be exciting and we can persuade the dregs from all the different societies around us.
will the monestary effect us with a negative aura?

Sounds good. If there is a doorway to the faerie realm right in our basement, I hope at least a few characters have Faerie Lore.
Also, the final installment on the Ars Magica 5th Edition preview is now posted. It talks about revisions to the spell formulae.
