1220 - The Campaign Begins

In the Autumn of 1220...

The body of a peddler was found deep in the woods, obviously the victim of a violent death. Guillo led some of the companions and yeomen on a search of the area, but found nothing of note. We learned from a peasant farmer who had let the peddler sleep in his loft that his name was Arneault of Dinant. None of us have magics to speak with the dead, so the man's death remains a mystery.

Stephan of Bonisagus invoked his right to claim the young girl, Matilda, as his new apprentice.

It was an otherwise peaceful season. The annual harvest festival was a time of feasting and revelry for peasants and covenfolk of Triamore.

Winter passed calmly and uneventfully as well. The new magi continue to be amazed at the weath of knowledge contained in the Grand Library. Even Marcello, a mundane, was able to find a book that will help him deal more knowledgably with Magi of the Order.

As the Spring thaw came, Ghislaine of Merinita led a small group into the depths of the Ardennes Forest. Accompanying her was Sir Guy and two fighting grogs. Ghislaine wished to find special places favored by the Fay Folk.

Their search was rewarded. They met some Faeries who were preparing for their annual Spring games. Another group came to play in the games, but our Triamore group was victorious. The victors were awarded special trinkets that have the look of magic.

The campaign will resume when our GM completes his reenactment of the Ten Tests of Hercules heroquest.

In the Summer of 1220...

* Remy took the new magi on a tour of the covenant's vis sources: The Painted Caves and The Pool of the Stone Horse.

We were also introduced to some new companions to the covenant:
* Marie the Wise Woman (Nanci)
* Deacon Munder (Nate), a clergyman of high status sent directly from the court of Frederick II
* Sir Guy (John Whitehead), a french knight with a grudge against his family
* Marcello Orsini of Verona (DC), a traveller with special talents

Marcello and Ghislaine wandered around northern Belgium, meeting Sir Guy along the way. They returned to Triamore with a young girl, escorted under the protection of Sir Guy.
