The covenant of Oakdell ("New Oakdell") is a spring covenant located in the Rhine Gorge of the Rhine Tribunal. Founded at the tribunal of 1221 it is charged with exploreing the Rhine Gorge and the ruins of the Diedne covenant of Oakdell. The magi have taken residence in Westerwald forest on the Rhine river by Koblenz. The Westerwald is the domain of the Queen of Bright Winter, with the King of Dark Summer making his home in the Hunsruck forest across the Rhine. The magi quickly established their home about an hours walk from Waldheim, a small village living in peacefull seclusion in the forest. Ludold, the village elder has proven quite helpful with information about the fairies, vis, and his remarkable healing skills and has taken an a girl as his apprentice from among the covenfolk. The magical veil surrounding the ruins of Oakdell has a powerful effect that makes anyone entering it become immediately lost and wander fruitlessly until they eventually exit at the meeting stone which used to serve as a waiting point for visitors. After several attempts to discover the secrets of the veil the magi solved the riddle of the illusionary guides who led them to the entrance to Oakdell: A large stone stairwell that leads underground completely filled with stones and rubble. They quickly discovered two things, a powerful Aegis of the Hearth that has somehow stood for almost two centuries, presumably without being recast and the entrance to a regio, which they are unable to cross. Without the ability to use magic to clear the path and lacking the extra manpower to haul the massive amounts of stone from the entrance the investigation into the Diedne ruins has stalled.
