Josh Campbell - New to SWA Group - Looking For Gamers

()

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to say hello to everyone and let you know I'm new to the SWA group. I've semi-recently moved back to the Albany area and am looking for people to play games with. I made it to this weekend’s game-a-thon for a few hours, but didn't want to push my luck since that was also my wedding anniversary Smiling

I play a wide range of games from 15 min card games to monster games to miniatures. I've got a lot of the GMT card driven games, a number of Euro games, a lot of old Avalon Hill games, a ton of Avalanche Press games, a badly painted warhammer fantasy army I purchased, and 3-4 unpainted armies, lots more games, etc, etc Smiling

I'd like to play games more often than the monthly game-a-thon. I'm available most of this coming weekend and a number of weeknights. I'm asking about Studio availability but it looks like it will be hard to guarantee time there. I live in Clifton Park if people want to play at my place, although space would be limited.

My email is joshua.campbell@verzion.net, or cell phone (for at least one more month...) is 518-376-0548.

Hi, I live in Clifton Park

Hi,
I live in Clifton Park as well, although I have yet to get to any SWA gettogethers as I just started getting into board games. I intend to check it out one of these days...

Anyways, I'm free most weekdays evenings, so if there is a fairly reoccuring day/time that there is a group of people getting together to play board games in the area I would be interested.

I can be reached at Nsalony@gmail.com

Hey...

I dont live to far from Clifton Park. I am available sometimes during the week and occasionally on week end evenings.
*(when I am not on kid duty)

if ever you are interested in trying to get a game together, shoot me an e-mail.

Grad School, a house & family as well as 10 month old keep me busy, but I am able to find time on occasion.

Welcome Josh

When I feel like Game-a-thon isn't enough, I venture down to Zombie Planet on Friday nights. When I've been there, game play usually starts around 6pm. People usually bring a game they'd like to play but a usually willing to settle for whatever the majority is interested in playing.

John,

Does this happen every Friday night? How many people usually show up? And what games have been playing?

I stopped by there one Friday around 6:00, but nobody was playing any board games. Maybe that was an off week. I'll have to try again sometime.

I've gone about once a month on average - less lately. There has been gaming when I've been there, and I've been told it goes on most weeks without any planning. Perhaps it was an off week.

Another thought occurred to me, which is that there is gaming space both upstairs and down. Usually, I've played games upstairs when I've been there.

All this talk about it makes me want to go down there tomorrow. Maybe I'll see you there.

Did anyone go to ZP last Friday, and if so what games were played? Does anyone play board games there on the Monday or Tuesday open nights?

Josh,

I went down there on Friday night. I posted an After-Action Report in my blog here on the SWA site: http://www.swa-gaming.org/node/699

In a nut shell, there was a game of Lunar rails, lots of Magic: The Gathering, and a mini's battle. I played in the Lunar Rails game, which started around 6:00pm. The big attraction seems to be Magic which had nearly 12 players -- spread out two to a table.
