[game pieces]

Friday @ Zombie Planet (5/11/2007)

Went to Zombie Planet this evening to game. Played Lunar Rails with Alex Jurkat and Bernie Trombley.

We were joined in the upstairs gaming area by approx. twelve Magic: The Gathering players.

Downstairs, there was a miniatures battle with some card based combat system that George, the owner, was playing. The game appeared to be fantasy skirmish, but I didn't get a close enough look to be sure.

Tonight's game was my first time playing Lunar Rails. I've played many train games over the years, but never had a chance to play this one. The game differs from other crayon-based train games in that much of the difficulty in playing gets wrapped in finding the seemingly arbitrary place names. Even so, I think the game was better than most crayon games in that I never felt that I couldn't make a decent run.
