Help w/ Game Component Images

()

Hey all.

You probably noticed the game component images that are being used on the SWA website and promotional materials. For the most part those pieces are from my game collection.

What I was/am trying to do is communicate the diversity of game types and genres that SWA plays and supports, in one image. As best we can, anyway. Also to use different images throughout SWA publications to keep things interesting, and further show the variety of games.

Anyway, it is difficult to do this using only my (and some of Vince’s…thanks Vince) collection. There are some areas that I am lacking: Train Games, many miniature genres, CCGs, Naval games, some key board games, etc., etc, . Whatever you don’t see in the images, or think is under-represented.

SO… we need more.

If you’d like to help, or just want to see your nicely painted minis on the website, I was thinking:

• You can take your own photo, and send it to us to use. Well actually this was Dave’s idea, but it could work. But if you do, please make sure they are well lit and in focus. Also, if you want them to be used on the website try to make sure it is roughly rectangular in shape to fit in the upper right spot. I can cut it out of the background for you. So you don’t have to worry about that.

• If you trust me, you could lend me a game piece or two, or more, and I can take some new photos with your pieces as part of them. Less work for you, and I promise I would take very good care of them.

• I was also thinking of scheduling a photo-shoot day-- maybe before or during a game-a-thon. People could bring in game components and I could arrange and do the photos then. Not sure how well this would work though.

Let me know if you want to help out, or have any other thoughts on this.

Nick
